SLS Prototype
SLS Prototyping (SLS) uses a laser beam to fuse powdered material such as nylon and metal to produce products. The production chamber’s temperature is maintained just below the melting point of the powder so the heat from the laser needs only to heat the powder slightly. SLS offers some key advantages!

SLS Prototyping produces a 3D prototype and parts fast by skipping the tooling setup step.
| |
Benefits include the following:
- Cost effective with product cost and labor
- 3D CAD Design to finish part
- Tool less production process
| |
Applications that use SLS Prototype:
| |
- Rapid prototyping and Rapid manufacturing
- Plastic part manufacturing
- Industries using SLS; Aerospace Rapid Prototyping, Automotive Rapid Prototyping and more
SLS machines were originally produced by DTM of Austin, TX. In September 01 2001, 3D Systems Corp of Valencia, CA. completed a merger with DTM Corp.
